Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Reporting to the CFO, you will have oversight of the financial operations of SwanCare, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting and the payroll function.  Along with leading and managing the day to day operations of the Finance team, you will provide strategic insights ensuring the effective planning, monitoring and reporting of financial resources. You will assist in driving operational efficiency, ensuring that all financial activities are aligned to SwanCare’s vision and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the Finance team, providing coaching and guidance and fostering a respectful and team-oriented environment.
  • Manage the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports including monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.
  • Prepare the annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Oversight of the management and processes related to Refundable Accommodation Deposits (RADs) ensuring compliance with prudential standards.
  • Review and submit the Quarterly Financial Report, benchmarking reports and annual Aged Care Financial Report.
  • Lead and manage the external audit processes.
  • Establish and uphold an internal audit framework that promotes continuous improvement.

Desired Skills and Experience

KEY ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • CA / CPA qualified.
  • Proven experience as a Management Accountant or similar role.
  • A hands-on leadership style with experience managing a small to medium sized team.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage annual budgets and capital expenditure cycle.
  • Proven ability to manage systems and evaluative processes.
  • Highly developed communication and influencing skills.
  • Use of the accounting software Epicor is highly desirable.
  • Experience managing the Payroll function is highly desirable.
  • Working rights in Australia.
  • National Police Clearance.
