Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Make a difference to our residents through the preparation of fabulous food!

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Head Chef with the provision of internal and external catering functions and high-quality food service.
  • Maintaining a well organised food production and distribution operation ensuring that the needs of the residents, customers, staff, and the organisation are met.
  • Assisting in menu planning, standard recipe development and the dietary needs of the residents and customers.
  • Efficiently and effectively utilise the human, financial and physical resources available in accordance with budgetary guidelines.

Desired Skills and Experience

KEY ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certificate III or IV in Commerical Cookery.
  • Demonstrated experience cooking in a cafe or restaurant setting.
  • Working rights within Australia.
  • National Police Clearance or NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Current Influenza Statement and Covid 19 Vaccinations (highly desirable).
  • Effective organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Knowledge of the Health Act 1911 (Food Standards), WHS regulations, Food Hygiene regulations, and Food Safety (HACCP) guidelines.
  • Safe use of chemicals and knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all applicable chemicals.
